# Can I delete the transcripts I have created using the API?

You can! Completed transcripts are stored for **30 days by default** and are automatically deleted after that. You can also delete them earlier at any time using the `DELETE` endpoint covered on [this page](/pre-recorded-audio/delete-transcripts) of our documentation, or shorten the retention window by setting a [time-to-live (TTL)](/data-controls#set-a-time-to-live-for-audio-and-transcripts) on the Data Controls page in the dashboard.
