The following document goes into effect on May 4, 2025, and is incorporated by reference into the revised Privacy Policy (accessible here) going into effect on the same day. Continued use of the Websites and/or Services on or after April 18, 2025 signifies acceptance of the changes.

<div class="gray-line"></div>

The following “Cookie Policy” is attached to, and made part of, the AssemblyAI Privacy Policy. Any Capitalized terms not defined in this Cookie Policy will have the meanings given to them in the Privacy Policy.

‍

Throughout this Cookie Policy we’ll refer to ourselves as “<u>we,</u>” “<u>us</u>”, “<u>our</u>”, or “<u>AssemblyAI</u>”.  Depending on how you are using our Offerings, we may refer to you as “<u>you”</u>, “<u>your</u>”, “<u>yours</u>”, “<u>User</u>”, “<u>Customer</u>”, or “<u>Visitor</u>". Moreover, when interpreting this Policy, note that the words “include,” “includes,” and “including” are deemed to be followed by the words “without limitation”. Similarly, the word “or” is not exclusive, and the words “herein,” “hereof,” “hereto,” and “hereunder” refer to this Policy as a whole.

‍

By using or accessing our Offerings, you are accepting the practices described in this Cookie Policy. We may also update this Cookie Policy (in our sole discretion). Non-material changes (such as clarifications) to this Cookie Policy will become effective on the change date. We will however notify you in advance of any material changes to this Cookie Policy, as appropriate. The date on which the latest update was made will be indicated at the top of this document. As such, we recommend that you print a copy of this Cookie Policy for your reference and revisit this policy from time to time to ensure you are aware of any changes. Use of our Offerings after a change has been made will signify your acceptance of such change(s).

‍

This Cookie Policy applies to Offerings made available by AssemblyAI. Unless stated otherwise, our current Cookie Policy applies only to Cookies or related technology that we place on your devices, or have placed by third-parties on our behalf. This Policy does not cover cookies or related placed by third-parties for their own purposes. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the privacy policies of such third-parties to determine how they handle any information they separately collect from you.

1.<span class="indent">&nbsp;</span>COOKIE TYPES

When you visit our Websites and other web content pages (hereinafter collectively, “<u>Websites</u>”), we may (on our own or through a third-party) place a cookie on your device (e.g., smartphone). Such cookies on their own rarely contain sufficient information to identify you. However, those cookies may identify you when combined with other data we have about you, including data you’ve shared with us.

‍

We may use cookies that are (a) session-based or (b) persistent-based. Session cookies are limited to only your active session on our Websites. They disappear as soon as you’ve closed your browser or turned off your device. By contrast, persistent cookies remain on your device, even after you’ve closed your browser or device. With some exceptions, you can control which cookies you will permit to be used, or retained, as discussed below. However, disabling cookies may limit your use of the Websites, or certain of the Services.

‍

The following describes cookies we may use, as well as choices you have around our use of such cookies:

‍

CATEGORY DESCRIPTION
Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly Necessary cookies are considered “essential.” They are necessary for the Websites to function, and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms.

You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some or all of the Websites, or Services, may not function properly. These cookies do not store on their own personally identifiable information.

Functional Cookies

Functional cookies enable website or page enhanced functionality and customization on the Websites. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages, or by us directly.

If you do not allow these cookies, then some or all of the Websites, or Services, may not function properly.

Performance Cookies

Performance cookies allow us to do things such as count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of the Websites. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and anonymous.

If you do not allow these cookies, it will be difficult for us to monitor site or page performance.

Targeting Cookies

Targeting cookies may be set through our Websites by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other sites. They do not store directly personal information, but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device.

If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

Marketing Cookies

Marketing cookies are usually third-party persistent cookies that track visitor web activity on our Websites to provide targeted advertisement. These cookies, unlike statistical cookies, are used to support online marketing by collecting information about the users to promote products through partners and other platforms.

If you do not allow these cookies, you may experience less targeted advertising.

Social Media Cookies

These cookies are set by a range of social media services that we have added to the site to enable you to share our content with your friends and networks. They are capable of tracking your browser across other sites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit.

If you do not allow these cookies you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools.

2.<span class="indent">&nbsp;</span>WHO SETS COOKIES

We, on our own or through service providers acting on our behalf, set cookies on your devices.

‍

Third parties may also set their own cookies, or use other Identifiers, on your devices that we do not control. For example, if you make use of embedded third-party content, that third-party may use cookies and other Identifiers, and are responsible for informing you about, and collecting where applicable consent to make use of, such cookies.

‍

In addition, as noted above, we may work with one or more advertising networks who use cookies to facilitate interest-based advertising on third-party websites.

3.<span class="indent">&nbsp;</span>YOUR COOKIE OPTIONS

With the exception of cookies that are required to operate our Websites and related content, we will seek your consent before placing other important, but non-essential, cookies (as discussed above) on your devices.

‍

Your cookie consent options include the following:

‍

CATEGORY DESCRIPTION
Modify your browser settings

You can modify your browser settings to control whether your computer or other device accepts or declines cookies. These settings are generally available within your browser’s "Help", "Tools" or "Edit" menus. If you choose to decline cookies, as noted above, you may not be able to use certain features of our Websites and related content. To learn more about how to control cookies using browser settings, click here.

Delete cookies from your browser

You can delete cookies from your browser; however, that means that any settings or preferences managed by those cookies will also be deleted and you may need to recreate them. Depending on your device, you may not be able to control tracking technologies through settings.

Cookie Privacy Preference Center

When you visit our Websites, we will ask for your consent to use non-essential cookies, including via our cookie banners and provided preference centers. If opting-out of any or all cookies, you will have to opt-out for each browser and device that you use. The cookie preference center also contains further notices around, and where you can additional confirm preferences concerning, opting out of any sale or share of personal information as recognized under various US State privacy laws.

Email Cookies or Other Trackers

When we send you emails, they might include a web beacon or similar technology (see below) that lets us know if you received or opened the email and whether you clicked on any of the links in the email. You can opt-out of marketing emails that may use web beacons by clicking on the opt-out link contained within the email.

‍

To learn more about targeting and advertising cookies, advertising networks and your ability to opt out of collection by certain third parties, please visit the Network Advertising Initiative, and the Digital Advertising Alliance.

4.<span class="indent">&nbsp;</span>WEB BEACONS, PIXELS, AND OTHER TRACKING TECH

We may also use other technologies, including web beacons, tags and pixels, alone or in conjunction with cookies, to compile information about visitors’ usage of our Websites, applications, and email interactions with us. Web beacons are small, clear electronic images that help deliver cookies, collect information about your use of the applicable Websites and may be used by us to operate and improve our Websites, Services and email communications.

5.<span class="indent">&nbsp;</span>LOG FILES, IP ADDRESSES, URELS, AND OTHER DATA

We also may gather certain information automatically to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer our Websites. This information may include your IP address (or the proxy server you use to access the web), device and application identification numbers, your location, your browser type, your Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, the pages and files you viewed, your searches, your operating system and system configuration information and date/time stamps associated with your usage.

‍

Due to Internet communications standards, when you visit or use our Websites, we automatically receive the URL of the website from which you came and the website to which you go when you leave our Websites. This information is used to analyze overall trends; to help us improve our Websites and Services; to track and aggregate non-personal information; and to provide our Services.

6.<span class="indent">&nbsp;</span>DO NOT TRACK

Currently, various browsers offer a “do not track” or “DNT” option that relies on a technology known as a DNT header, which sends a signal to websites visited by the user about the user's browser DNT preference setting. Our response to DNT signals is outlined in the Privacy Policy. We do not currently respond to browsers' DNT signals with respect to the Websites, in ways contrary to what is otherwise outlined in the Privacy Policy.
